János M. Bak Fellowship Fund

The János M. Bak Research Fellowship on Medieval Central Europe is established to celebrate Professor Emeritus János Bak, a great teacher and scholar on his 90th birthday (25 April 2019), and to promote further research into medieval Central Europe, a field close to his heart and in which he has become an emblematic personality worldwide.

The fellowship will be awarded to early- and mid-career researchers who are significantly advancing research of medieval Central Europe in any field of study in the period between 800 and 1600 CE.

With your gift, you join the fellowship's founders: Central European University and its Department of Medieval Studies, in cooperation with the Medieval Central Europe Research Network (MECERN, http://mecern.eu/), as well as colleagues, alumni, and friends in contributing to medieval scholarship and honoring Prof. Bak's achievements.

Thank you for your support of CEU. Contributions may be made online on this page or by check, wire transfer or stock.
