BlackRock and CEU award scholarships to women who show passion for data analysis, programming and technology, and great potential or leadership in their professional and personal endeavors. The Women in Technology Scholarship also provides one-on-one mentoring by CEU faculty and industry partners.


Fatima Arshad | MS in Business Analytics

Women in Technology Scholarship

Fatima comes to CEU with a bachelor’s degree in software engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology in Islamabad. She has experience in deep learning, software design and documentation, business analytics, data analysis, machine learning, UI/UX design, and search engine optimization. 

Her expertise in programming languages is extensive, and she currently works as a front-end web developer at a company that provides technology to improve driver safety and efficiency of road transport operations. During the pandemic, she has been working on COVID-19 time series forecasting. Her work involves making predictions using Istm/rnn models with sliding windows. At CEU, she is also enrolled in a data management postgraduate specialization program.

Assylzat Kabassova | MS in Finance

Women in Technology Scholarship

Assylzat received her bachelor’s degree in economics from Nazarbayev University, in her home country of Kazakhstan. During her second year as an undergraduate student, she worked as an intern at Astana International Financial Center (AIFC). At AIFC, Assylzat was responsible for the coordination of CFA, FRM, Islamic Finance courses, and event planning for World Investor Week 2018, in collaboration CFA Institute, GARP, CISI, INCEIF, AAOIFI. In the same year, as a member of the Kazakhstan Student Finance Association, she organized the first preparatory courses for CFA at Nazarbayev University for around 40 students, in cooperation with AIFC and other industry professionals. 

Maryam Khan | MS in Business Analytics

Maryam earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan. During her time there, Maryam served as Executive Council Treasurer of the Finance Society and worked with the university’s in-house consultancy group as Development Consultant.

Before coming to CEU, she worked at an e-commerce marketplace as Digital Payments Manager. Maryam contributed to the growth of digital payments and the successful deployment of the platform’s first closed-loop wallet. She has also been an active volunteer for children's causes.

Neha Soni | MS in Finance

Women in Technology Scholarship

Neha comes to CEU with a bachelor’s degree in Management Studies from the Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies in New Delhi, India. After graduation, Neha interned in client services before completing a management trainee program.

While an undergraduate student, Neha was a member of the business development team in AIESEC, a non-governmental, not-for-profit global organization run entirely by youth for youth that provides a platform to develop leadership potential. Now Neha is further catalyzing her personal and professional growth at CEU.
