Funded by the Association for International Solidarity in Asia (ASIA) and CEU with the support of the Bhutan Nyo Foundation, this scholarship is awarded to an individual from Bhutan accepted to the MA program in Cultural Heritage Studies.
Dendup Tshewang, MA in Cultural Heritage Studies
Dendup Tshewang hails from Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital and largest city. He is passionate about heritage conservation, and he has been transforming his passion into practice as a civil engineer since graduating from the National Institute of Technology in India.
Among his recent projects with the Bhutanese Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs was the restoration of the Rigsum Goenpa, an important Himalayan Buddhist temple. His studies at CEU are supporting his development as a conservationist and thereby contributing towards the protection of cultural heritage in his home country.
