Gerd Bucerius History Scholarship

Dmitry comes to CEU from Moscow State University. Choosing CEU has been an important step forward in pursuing his research on the history of the early Habsburg monarchy. Specifically, he focuses on the history of education within the Jesuit school system in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. He is interested in the life of students in the Jesuit educational institutions, both how they lived and how Jesuits spread ideas through these colleges, and how this affected Habsburg history.

While at CEU, Dmitry is developing his capacities as a historian of Central Europe. He's keen to approach history from an angle that is different from the Russian historical tradition with which he was brought up.
